I sense a disturbance in the force......

......... it's as if millions of souls were crying out in fear(familiar line?). Yes, I've finally watched "Sith" and can give a full review of the movie. But before that, let me give a breakdown of the day. Met up with the TK Clan, and was supposed to go swimming. Guess what? Pool closed till 1430(it was 1030). So everyone decide to go JP, I suggested to go YT but they wanted JP cuz Ah Ber didn't bring trunks but soccer shorts! Then I told them that I had a later appointment with Wei Xun(for "Sith") and called him later if we could watch a later show but he couldn't cuz he had an appointment with a fren in the evening and was working for the rest of the month everyday and couldn't catch a movie. Feeling guilty, I had to cancel the show with him and joined the TK Clan for "Sith". I'll make it up to you bro! Our TK cheif, TK Chew was very nice to pillion me to and fro teh swimming complex cuz I didn't have vitamin "C" in my ez link card. At the pool, SL and Ah Ber was late! Gone shopping when TK and I were on the way to the swimming complex, called them up and they cut us off. SL, you're a F****** coward. Ok, this was the first time I joined the TK Clan for a swim and was in for a big surprise! Wah lau, they were desperate enough to follow gals(and I mean 14-15 year old xiao mei meis) in the lazy pool! Haha, watching them do stuff like this made me laugh whenever I went along with them during their "desperate trips". I had to break away from the "trips" for awhile and went to the competition pool for a(serious) swim(did I mention there got more bijou(s)? more matured mah), hmmm not bad, 300m, 6 laps, freestyle, no problem(i just need bigger lungs heh).

Now, for the review of "Sith":
Watching the final installation of the Star Wars series made me want to unlearn what I've learnt or unwatch what I've watched(the old Trilogy) to appreciate it. If you're a fan of the original Star Wars trilogy, better watch the old films to put your faith back in the force(they're that good!). Firstly, too many special effects, I mean, R2D2 is nomore the lovable robot we used to know! It's looks like a bloody Xbox game! And Yoda, yes, Yoda. Frank Oz is still the voice actor but Yoda's all 3D. I prefer the muppet Yoda anyday! Watch the old Star Wars Film and you could feel the magic, none of all that 3D rubbish, it was all heart. I cannot imagine them filming "Empire"(my all time fav SW episode), the Dagobah scenes in full 3D. It woold've killed the experience. Oh, yeah, did I say that the acting was rather stiff? They looked like human cardboards! Or like someone stuck a steel rod up their arses! And dun get me started on the romance scenes(which were thankfully few). The scene where Anakin pledged allegiance to the sith was unbelievable! Evidance was there that Palpatine was evil he still believed Palpatine was good, even people with IQs over 50(did I say 50? I mean 15) could see through it and I can't see why he couldn't. Lastly, the lines sounded corny at times(many times). The saving graces of the movie was the light saber battles and Ewan Mcgregor's acting as "Ben" Kenobi. George Should've stuck to story telling, got reputable script writers(Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett, ok they were script writers for "Empire"), called in Irvin Kershner to direct and done away with 80% of the 3D crap in the movie. I would've enjoyed it then! Well, the force is NOT strong with this one but it made for an entertaining/interesting 2+ hours. Only to be watched once. If given the chance, I'll call it Tar Wars, Crapisode III, "Blunder of the Jedi(George?)" Oh, and I forgot, Darth Vader looks so Skinny. Nomore the Big intimidating evil dude I knew from the original trilogy...... oh the sadness. Thankfully, James Earl Jones is back to do that sexy Vader voice again. I guess I better stop lest someone does a dark side choke on me and says: "I find your lack of faith disturbing..." then does that hand sign saying: "You'll like episode III" before letting me go.
So, I've answered the master's call(Lucas) and am finally free of the bondage of the Star Wars universe(unless they wanted to do episodes VII to IX... highly unlikely) and life is once again, back to normal(making me lose 7 bucks in the process, it was a mind trick I tell you).

Dinner with TSTS

Had a great time having dinner with TSTS yesterday. By Mun Hoe's recommendation, we went to Vienna International for a seafood buffet. At first, I thought it would be a very westernised restaurant haha but everyone working there were from China! Mun Hoe joked that it had to be called Vienna because no one would go there if it was called Guangzhou International and everyone was laughing :-D That aside, the food was quite good and the service was above average, one thing was that the table that was given to us was too small and when I asked the waitress for a bigger one, she said that it belonged to someone but when we've finished eating and the restaurant was almost closing, no one took that table and I was quite pissed with that Oban, totemo kechi ne, sono ahou! Our favourites were the butter fried prawn, scallop, crispy durian, buddha jump over the wall and of course the desserts. If I can't remember the rest, the rest would probably fill it in in their blogs. Speaking of the Buddha jump over the wall, Amelia was asking why they called it that and I jokingly said that one day Buddha wanted to eat chicken and went to the farm to steal the chicken(which made them laugh, effectively) and had to jump over the wall to escape from the farmer. They then said that Buddha doesn't steal... ey joke lah(I even have Jesus jokes). And of course over dinner we were talking about what we've been up to since the last TSTS meeting. Amelia working and blaming Don for not jioing her to go clubbing(an activity I don't fancy nor understand), Peiying working(!) 3 jobs(superwoman), Don working in his island(and dreaming of opening the TSTS bakery, prawn farm and earning his first billion in afew years time), and Mun Hoe and I having a good time lazing at home. After dinner, there was this stage that had this power ranger road show performance earlier with obviously no sign of any power rangers in sight. So Don, Mun and I went to the stage with an idea of staging some power ranger battle with no idea who was playing the good or bad guy and the girls filming our "mini-epic". Anyway, Mun gave some ideas and left the acting to Don and I and saying his "ideas" were good enough. In Don's word "Mun, you're not a man"(we even had to drag him to do the jetty jump in Tioman even with his life jacket on!). Ok, scene 1: good vs evil(up to interpretation) 2 idiots w/o costumes jumps out of the curtains. Character 1(Don) tries to hit Character 2(me). Character 2 dodges by rolling away and coming back to punch character 1(who sees no point in continuing to act and claps away) who goes without saying, loses. There you have it, our 15 minutes of fame. Ey, we even had people other than the TSTS watching the performance leh, who knows we can be the next Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt..... yeah right, only in our dreams..... all bull crap! Ok, so the TSTS had to part after that and it marked an end of yet another amazing meeting with the Syndicate. Everyone went home happy and I, with a stomach full of stitches after stuffing myself silly and rolling on the stage during the my mini "Duel of fates". Next up, shopping this sunday with the Syndicate. Tomolo's activity, Swimming with the TK Clan and Star Wars later in the evening with Wei Xun and yes, life cannot get better than that(only if I could get my hands on more money and life would be perfect but alas, C'est La Vie).

Meeting up with Xiong Di

Meeting up with a friend(s) certainly makes me feel like a student again, the familiar face(s) and voice(s)... and even the smell(well, some of them that is... ey, I got a very sharp nose OK). Met up with Xiong Di(nickname lah) today. Wow! It's been a month since I last met her. Yeah, the last time we met was at my birthday but we didn't talk much that time also. Oh well, whatever, nevermind. Had dinner(and almost froze to death there) and did some catching up(she saw the TSTS videos on my camera) on what we have been doing since we last met. Time really flies man, last time she was my classmate, now she's working for some lifescience company and I'm well on my way to national slavery(that's why must make it a point to meet up with old friends just incase something happens mah, can expire w/o any regrets). Oh, to Angel and Joyce: I got a super-duper cool pair of sunglasses(Ray Ban) with the voucher ya guys gave me. Thanks so much! I've always wanted a pair of 'em(fell in love in them the moment I laid eyes on them)! Wearing them all the time now. Would have a pic of me in them up in friendster one of these days(it'll be quite awhile). Next outing up, the EXPENSIVE dinner at Novena International(is that what it is?) with TSTS. Darn, this better be good! I'm fast running outta cha-ching already. Alright, I've officially run out of things to say(c'est 3.20 a.m.).... OUT!

The significance of today's date........

Alright! The original Star Wars was released in theatres 28 years ago today(25th May, 1 am Singapore time). It was a historic period as it changed the way movies were made and how we watch movies. Non Sci-Fi fans were converted and everyone started saying: "May the force be with you." And no, I have not watched "Sith", yet. Yeah I know, rather late for a fan(been one since I was 11) right? Not really since I've heard from alot of people that it's craptacular.Anyway, stay tuned for a full review of the movie next week(when I've watched it) which is non-biased(cuz Lucas didn't pay me a gazillion bucks to write a favourable one). Till then mes amis!
Another memorable line:
Luke: "But I'm not afraid." Yoda to Luke: "Good. You will be... you will be..."*nods head*

The countdown

It was one more week before the end of a saga so I took out my episode IV, V and VI dvds and had a marathon 7 hours viewing of the trilogy. Only thing was that I discovered to my horror that my episode IV got 5 minutes worth of damaged scenes(Will get another dvd box set and give away the old one). Rats! Luckily my fav episode(V) was undamaged. Anyway, the rest of the viewing was indescribable! At the end, all the emotions were running through me. As if the hair on your back stands(the good one) and you feel like it's the end of a truely great era. Will the last one be good? Dun bet on it(it's already receiving bad reviews). Will I be catching it? Definitely! I've been brainwashed by Lucas. What can I say? Until then, in the words of the great "Ben" Kenobi: "The force will always be with you."
Quotable quotes:
Darth Vader: *Does dark side choke* "I find your lack of faith disturbing...."(insert mechanical breathing)
Vader to Luke: "We shall rule the universe as father and son!"
Yoda: "Do or do not, there is no try."
"Ben" Kenobi: "The force is what gives the jedi their strength, it surounds us, penetrates us"
Something you hear in all episodes: (all too familiar)"I have a bad Feeling about this."
Luke: "You killed my father" Vader: "No, I'm your father!" Luke: "NO!!!! It's impossible!"(dun tell me you were not shocked the first time you heard it!)
Leia: "I love you" Han: "I know"(I like that one)
(yeah, I know some of them are not quotes but whatever..........)

Meeting up with "Le Salopard"

Going back to Alliance Francaise always brings back fond memories of the friends I made there and about the "fun-filled" lecons(where I once had "war" in class with my teacher aka "Le Salopard", France vs Singapour! Guess who won?). Anyway, was supposed meet up with "Le Salopard" there today(Aujourd'hui). Guess what? Lesson cancelled and I wasted my trip down to AF. Called up "Le Salopard"(lets call him "L'encule" now) and he was in Isetan! WTH? Went down there and started talking all sorts of trash and had a great time hearing about his "travels". Then came the other 2 of my ex-french classmates and "TK Chew"(not from French Class) who when in combination with me created the infamous "Les trois garcons" who always created trouble for "L'encule" during lessons(which became the larger than life "La femme et trois garcons" due to the addition of Rin in later lessons). Even more trash talking ensued resulting in our little gang becoming more noisy at Mac's! haha. Chatted for around 1 hr and then "L'encule" had to go back to AF with "le pede" for lessons...... SOUR. Caught "Kingdom Of Heaven" with "Les Trois Garcons" and "TK Chew" after meeting up with "Encule". Abit boring and not very historically accurate(I know quite well the history of the crusades) cuz they demonize the Christians but seemed to conveniently forget the atrocities the Muslims also committed during that time hmmmm........ An entertaining popcorn movie none the less. "L'encule" already told us not to watch it(or at least watch it for the French babe, he's French wat!) cuz he thinks it's boring. Oh well, nevermind......... All in all, j'ai passe un moment tres agreable.

Heard of breakfast at Tiffany's? Now it's Dinner at Amy's!!

Alright! Dinner at Amy's was a Blast! Having so much fun there made me forget that I only had 4 hours sleep the night before. The Gals(Amy, Pei ying and Steph) made choco cakes and the guys(Mun and Don) made sushi and sorbet. I made "Jap Curry" which was actually jap tomato soup because my sis bought the wrong soup while in Japan(she cannot read nihongo mah), when I was cooking the soup, I stopped and read the packaging and did not see the カレー(kare-) word that means curry. Anyway, kudos to my mom who added curry powder and saved the "curry" making it taste more like jap curry. Back to the cooking, the first cake(for our moms for mother's day) was good cuz we luckily had steph there who was looking into the microwave(dun get too close if not kana "half boiled eggs") and asked whether the cake was ready anot cuz it looked very cooked at 7+ mins into the 15 mins of cooking and it was! The second cake though was ultra hard(so hard, Peiying had to repeat her karate chop and kick performance on it to break it in two!) cuz this time Amy and Peiying put it into the Microwave for the full 15 mins! Haha, so we got our dear Don to go get extra butter to make another cake. No one went with him though and he was bitching about the lack of team spirit as he left.... sorry lah brudder, next time can? FYI the 3rd cake was a success due to the combined efforts of Peiying, Don and I(was it the 3 of us only? forget liao) hehe. The sushi Mun made was good too, after 2 years of putting down his sushi roller, he finally came out of retirement and wowed us with his sushi skills! But since his skills were rusted abit, the sushi came out small but tasty none the less! Don was the utmost BEST cook of the day! Not only did he bomb his sorbet, he burnt the fish fingers(i mean really golden "brown" burnt)! Haha luckily a skilled cook was around to save the day and cooked the rest of the frozen nuggets! Ey Don, remember, when cooking frozen stuff, heat the oil first then fry the food in a small fire. After feasting, we played(!) Indian poker again. Yes, this time it was no more "i love tioman" whatever. Since we had squeezed 15 lemons and accumulated the juice into one bowl, we used it as out forfeit. first loser, 1 table spoon of juice, second loser, 2, 3rd loser, 5, fourth loser, 10, last loser, whole bowl... long story short, Don was the 4th loser(due to team spirit). Team spirit was supposed to last us to make Don the last loser but we had mercy on him and scrapped the game(lucky ass). Thus came an end of another one of the tioman syndicate's (ILLEGAL)activities. Next one up, bomb building at Don's place! We decided to call ourselves TSTS(Tioman Syndicate, Team Spirit) and plan to open up a TSTS cafe that bakes confectionary by day while secretly plotting anarchy in our underground basements with funding from our main source, choco cakes or the infamous "karate-hard cake"! A bientot!
For more info and pics on the dinner at Amy's, kindly divert your attention to Amy's and Peiying's blog.
For a wonderful world(or blog) full of lies, deceit and deception, tune in to Don's Blog.

A very Mollylady birthday

Went for Mollie's and Melissa's 21st and 20th b'day today! The theme was a sarong party and everyone was encouraged to be in beach attire. Needless to say, less than half there were in beach wear. Since I knew many would not follow dress code, I decided to dress up in beach wear(must support mah). Long story short, after chow time one of Mollie's friends tried to throw her into the pool but was not strong enough. I happily helped out hehe... So when I mentioned: "so when is Melissa's turn?" Mollie and Farhan started getting into action and u should know the outcome. As if that wasn't enough, Mol and Mel started dragging Farhan(who was screaming: "but it's not my birthday!" and some unprintable words) into the pool. Since he put up a strong resistance, one of Mol's working colleagues assisted and he too fell. Haha too bad! By then I started thinking "am I gonna be next?" and expressed my concerns to Dickson who in turn suggested that I go(more like hide) to the toilet, I needed to pee anyway. When I came out, I went over to the table where my sec sch friends(Yoga and co.) sat and cowered in fear there. Ok lah, not cowering in fear but I wanted to circumvent going home wet and smelling like chlorine due to their pool victim hunting ways. Then, the next person into the pool was the very same person who suggested I go hide in the toilet, Dick(poor guy, your sacrifice would not be in vain I'll not forget you) haha. Ok lah, when Dick fell into the pool, he looked more like he was willing to take the plunge(he even said earlier that he wanted to take a dip). Then, Mol and some other friends got the person who booked the pool and poolside into the pool(aww, isn't that sweet?)! Later, they wanted to make a video of the pool side waltz where they(Mol-Mel, Dick-Far) would waltz from dry land into the pool. I was the camera man. First into the pool was Dick(whom Farhan pushed into), Mol and Mel didn't wanna waltz into the pool, infact they just held hands pretending to waltz and became spectators of Dick falling. Not for long, Farhan pushed Mol first, then Mel. As camera man, I had the obligation of taking a close up of the winner... yeah right! Unbeknownst to Farhan, I had an ulterior motive. So when I took a "close up" of the "winner", I let him turn around to taunt the pool guys and then I pushed him into the pool! After that, I was given a standing ovation by everyone who saw what I did......... Alright, I lied but they cheered for ME haha seeing him(Far) "fly" just brings tears into my eyes... When I was showing them the video, I held on tightly to the camera for some assurance just incase they decided to pull me into the pool(which luckily did NOT happen). So at the end of the day, another one of my friends turned 21 and we have to recognise the fact that we're getting older and I forgot to write on Mollie's and Melissa's birthday logbook...... SOUR! Oh yeah, did I mention that one of Mol’s friends there is a bijin? SWEET!

May Day! May Day!

1 day proir to May day, Soo Lim's parents invited me to some bbq thing by their freinds who lived nearby. Went with Soo Lim and were talking about the people there on the way. He told me that all were women(except his dad, obviously) and if THE 28 year old is there, he'll be very happy. Too bad she wasn't there and we were "deprived". After the bbq, Soo Lim's parents drove me home and I went back with a full stomach. Really nice peolpe, Soo Lim's family.
Ok! My May day was spent sleeping the whole day since I purchased 3 seasons of the Inuyasha anime(cartoon) and spent the whole night watching them and I'm not even through! Notable mentions of my purchase is my new Blitz Gundam model(not yet assembled, no time) and Tamiya car "VANQUISH"(not intending to assemble, not many people know but it's a collector's type model, I've been trying to get my hands on it since I was 12!). Got the money to spend from my ni jyu ichi sai otoshidama! I know that I should save the money but since with great power comes great responsibility and I like to abuse the power of the nets card........ Oh yeah, go check out the new cd by garbage, "bleed like me", freaking good rocking cd! I'm making you spend too, let me perform a Jedi mind trick on you(since the magical may 19 is around the corner), *does the hand movement* spend the money........ you like to spend....... you will spend......
