Everything's dying around me

First was my phone and as Amie told me, I drowned it. During my bath after a jog in camp, which i bring my hp wrapped in a ziploc bag along with me, I left it in my shower bag which was under the shower head. I was so confident in the impermeability of the ziploc bag that I didn't bother to check the safety of my hp . It was after my bath that i was checking my hp when I discovered to my horror that it died. First when i took it out I was wondering why is it off? Upon closer inspection I saw that the hp was in a small pool of water in the ziploc bag!! Immediately too it out and tried it turn it on but to avail. Luckily I got secret weapon!!! Haha being a loyal starhub mobile subscriber I was given 2 choices, a free samsung or sony ericsson phone(which is 68 bucks). Obviously I chose sony ericsson(God bless sony!) lah, 3G phone leh! But i didn't subscribe to the 3G crap lah... siao so expensive haha. Hope it gets cheaper soon! I love my K610im hehe...

Next it was my computer's turn to die on me. What to do? It was state of the art technology from over 5 years ago and served me well for 4+ years. Chat halfwayon msn, then suddenly freeze. Try to restart it but it keeps freezing at the windows xp loading display. Reformatted it and it still didn't start. Bo pian use my old man's laptop, which he was kind enough to lend, hahaha. Recently he managed to wake it up but it's not working as it used to. I give it another 6 months or less before it dies on me again. Now y'all know why i haven't updated this place for awhile huh.

In another one of Lucas's scheming plots to milk more money from his Star Wars franchise the limited edition non-enhanced version and for a limited time only release dvd is finally out here. Guess what? I'm one of those suckers who bought it. Making me lose another 35 bucks just for episode 4 alone! Still have episodes 5 and 6! Cham lah i predict bigger holes in my pockets being burnt and my pants melting from the heat! Damned you George Lucas, Damned your Star Wars, Damned my love for your Trilogy, Damned your episodes 1-3 for sucking major ass(and making me lose 22.50 bucks in the process)!

Why do I have to keep spending more money when im trying to save now? Can it just drop from the sky? I hope no more of my stuff dies on me if not i'll even lose the clothes on my back! Crap lah army pays us peanuts, which makes us monkeys!

Note: started writing this on oct 28, finished(finally) on nov 4!

Another one hits 21

And reminds me that I'm getting more matured(yeah right! That's the nicer term for getting older). 6 more months before I turn 23! I've noticed that time flies by faster after you've hit 15. Not only do I have lesser time to enjoy, now that National Slavery has practically taken over almost every aspect of my life, I've become a caged bird when I was supposed to be in Uni(I want to enrol in CalTech!!) now. Should've taken the chance to study in the US when I was 15. Dun need to come back anymore. haha.

Oh and who just turned 21? It's non other than the hottest girl in Ngee Ann Poly Biotech, Miss Stephanie Chan Hui Qi! It was great seeing Steph again, she looked stunning in that dress. Congrats! You're now an ADULT! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The whole TS was invited to Aquamarine at Marina Mandarin. Well, only the girls who were in Australia did not turn up. Present were Big Aunty, Don, Mun and I. The food was amazing! Everything that entered our mouths was delightful :P fresh seafood, powerful kong bak, exquisite desserts and shiok chocolate fondue(the chocolate was flowing down a fountain)! Eat until my stomach wanted to explode! Honestly, it's way past dinner time and I'm still full!

Was supposed to meet up with my sis for a show after that but since she just got back from New York and Frankfurt, she got a stiffneck. So I guess we will have to delay till tomorrow then. But then again luckily she got a stiff neck because i didn't feel well after the party! Got a headache man. Seriously the haze is such a buzzkill. The little pervert called me to join him, Brad and Justin for a movie at cineleisure but because of the headache I couldn't make it. Nvm lah still can meet them up another day and I got to spend some quality time with special people at home anyway(~blehz~).

Movie tomorro after church and grandma's place with sis then! WTC or The Prestige?

Guillotine them!

"Stew pig" haze is so bad here! I catch a running flu on an almost daily basis and I just got a headache this morning that have yet to recover(but it's better now, thanks to you know who u are ~blehz~). Yesterday, in the train en route to Orchard to join the TS guys, I also saw a bush fire in sg at the Yio Chu Kang area... Adding to the already bad haze situation and I overheard somebody mentioning its a forest fire in SG. I think it was caused by some punk because it was already evening and the sun was setting. Seriously the people who caused the haze should be burnt at the stake or be sent to the guillotine. Heads will roll...

On a more positive note, lately, I've noticed that I've been catching movies on a weekly basis. first was scoop with Jung Xu and Yang Xian and seconly, was the departed with Don and Mun. Both solid shows on the opposite genres. One is a Woody Allan comedy and the other one, an underworld movie by Martin Scorsese. Hope I can catch WTC and Miami Vice sometime soon. Must watch one of them with Matt, Wong and Ci Wen! Hope they are free. Alway busy wan those people. The perils of being in intelligence, operations and piloting I suppose... Whatever lah.

153 on the PSI index

And that was the highest I've seen today on tv, not sure if it was higher after I tore myself away from it. The last highest psi reading I saw was when I was about 9 or 10 years old and it was 133! The haze also caused me to cancel my afternoon run today! I can't even see into Malaysia and visibility is limited to about 1 klick. I could smell a smell of something burnt in the air when I was at the balcony also. Not sure if I'm gonna hang out with Jung Xu tomorrow due to the hazy condition if it keeps up. A slight headache is kicking in and all I have to say is 2 words: Wah Lao. Better stay indoors for health reasons, I think Singapore's worse hit by the hazy nonsense in ASEAN(am I right?).

On another note, I met Wilson some days ago at camp while I was jogging. He's now 2LT Wilson and a PC now... Don't play play! Haha but he was complaining to me about his occupational hazards. Signed 3 extras(extra duties which equates to weekends being eaten up in camp) and 100 more to come! Why? Because of some shite that happened during armskote(accountability when returning weapons... this always gets people into trouble). Not only that, he had to draw up lesson plans about Armoured warfare that he wasn't even trained for so you know what happened to his plans(they were rejected). We trained as tank commanders in Armoured Engineers(build bridges, lay mines, destroy mines and blow up things, all while using tanks) NOT Armoured(cheong suah, rush the hill) Armour warfare. Well, atleast he got 32 people and 3 tanks under him. ME? I got injured so I kissed tanks, helicopters, Light Strike Vehicles, parachutes and coastal hooks goodbye and I'm now the CWSM(Cadet Wing Sergeant Major) equivalent of the stores! Life looks set to be pretty normal for the next 7 months minus 1 day to come :)

Taking things for granted

I've realised that coming to a home with people is a luxury that I've taken so much for granted. The sounds of chatter by my family members... their arguements(?), the sounds of my younger sister's foot steps when she's running up and down the house, or even the sounds of the TV when she's watching cartoon network or dinsey channel, just the presence of people in the house nontheless, whether you're engaging them in idle banter or otherwise is so warm that I didn't notice it until recently. Thank god I've got someone to talk to that day(~blehz~) if not I would've gone bonkers.

Today, almost the same situation as last week, came back home just to find out that the house was empty and that everyone was having dinner in Lei Garden at CHIJMES(our taiwanese friends came). Thankfully mom bought home dinner... at 9.20 pm! And yes, the temptation just to be home has brought me back today and, right now on this very (tuesday)evening(it's 10pm!) I'm typing this web log entry with the Z monster creeping up on my back. Why I've taken the effort just to make this post? Moral of the story: Cherish your family. AMEN.
