You heard something?

Imagine sleeping in an eight men bunk in camp all alone. Imagine you've slept there alone many times. Now, imagine one night you're suddenly awakened by a loud breathing sound from the bed next to yours that you put your stuff on. What would you do? What would you do?

Easy! Take the rosary, say a short prayer. When the sound still doesn't go away, switch on the lights and inspect the source of the sound! That's what I did... Unfortunately, instead of finding something extraordinary I found out that the sound actually came from the window on the opposite end of the room. How then, did that sound come from the source? That, I think I will never know... Is there something wrong with my bunk? I don't even wanna think!

Pain in the crotch!

Clocked over 3 hours on my bike today after letting it collect dust for the past 4 months! The last time I rode on it? Chinese New Year. The feeling of speed, the wind blowing against you... and the leaves hitting your face is so great! heh. I also just found out that my mouthpiece for the water bag is gone! WTH. Had to repeatedly lock and unlock it whenever i needed to drink, sheer inconvenience!

As usual, I cycled over to my old place not before I went to my old schools which was bullshit because I cannot enter as and when I want anymore! What's up with that? When I asked why? They said because they're afraid of terror attacks! Yeah... right. If I was a suicide bomber would I just go in a singlet and bermudas and a water bag and enter a neighbourhood school? Smaaaaart, REAL smaaaaart... Schools are like turning into army camps! This is real horse shit man. I can't even visit my former school? I even told them I'll leave all my gear(which costs the same as an M16) with them to proof im not a terrorist and request they come along with me to proof I have no intention to(what a joke) bomb the school. The lazy guard said he had to water the plants. Err... riiiight. Weak excuse. Screw all of you, each and everyone one of you! Stupid MOE with all it's stupid rules. If terrorists really want to take a school, they'll do another Beslan and come in guns blazing! Better to put armed gurkhas at the gates instead of overweight "security" guards who fight with what? Paper bullets and pens? HA!

Anyway, when I was at my old place I called a friend whom I forgot is over at Australia studying now and also my BIG AUNTY who was at JP with James. Didn't wanna cycle all the way there anyway so I cycled back home. Have to wake up early for the next day anyway. But I really wanted to go. Another time can? Oh, I'm fast running out of places to bike already! Can someone give me a suggestion or better yet, join me as cycling kaki?

Crap, that reminds me... Gotta go back to camp tomorrow morning and what am I doing now? Happily blogging with the z-monster behind my back! So before I'm overcome with fatigue, time to click on the publish button! Bonsoir Mes Amis! Nous parlerons encore.

To bike or not to bike?

Smoke me!

Ass, Yeow Ming! Smoke me!

Was supposed to meet up with my OCS friend, Yeow Ming, before he went to Brunei for SOCJOT. 2pm at cineleisure... Yeah right! Reached there just to receive a text message from him: Sorry, this evening i meet you guys. I watch soccer last night on my way home now... Idiot! I hope you suffer and hor lan in mount biang(because it happened to my team)! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Anyway, since I was there already I went over to Far East and checked out my favourite toy stores. Heng man! I got the last SW Biker Scout action figure, at 28 bucks! Expensive purchase but damned worth it! Blew more Vitamin M at Gramophone for both Alicia keys' albums(the scotts store has this moving out sale at 1 disc at $11 and 5 at $25, tres marche!). Haha my new love? Her music! Luckily, Washington messaged me the day before. So we met up and bought t-shirts! Fwah, retail theraphy manz!

A salute to my OCS buddy, Justin. He was on Duty Officer on sat so couldn't join us... Another day lah brudder! Dinner at Swensen's PS with Wash and Matt. Then we went over to the new cathay to watch scary movie 4! Funny but damned lame. Not really worth the 9.50 ticket purchase but the company was good! I owe matt 9.50, must remember to pay him back! Someone remind me can?

For new commanders,

Gentlemen! You all looked gorgeous that day. The parade was the beginning of your first step in your lifelong journey as an officer of the SAF. Remember the 9 months of torture, the hard times(remember, Alpha cadets?), what we went through... Do not do unto your men what you did not want done to yourself when you were a trainee. Lead with faith and conviction. Lead by example and do not be a tyrant nor dictator. It's not only hardware that counts but the heartware. Be the officer i did not have the honour to be... You are given the highest honour, be a good officer.
To lead is a privilege not a right. Remember. Ex-OCT 61/05 OCC Alpha

Officership is a journey that never ends just like you never really stop being a soldier.

Above, Beyond, As One... ALPHA!

Finally, 61/05 OCC got commissioned but I was not marching in the parade square... So kind of Matthew's family to drive me All the way to SAFTI to witness the parade. Everyone was so surprised and happy I came. Proudest day of my life so far to see my best friends Ci Wen, Matt, Wong, Edwin, Justin, Zhong, Man U, Keigo, Dominic, Keng Guan etc. They all looked so BEAUTIFUL in the number 1 and marching in the parade square! When they were singing the commissioning songs and reciting the SAF pledge, I was there saying it with them! We are ONE, brother to brother in life and death! Officers of the SAF, Officers of Alpha Wing! Young defenders of the country! At the same time it was very painful because I was supposed to be in there. My time will come! Y'all better come for MY commissioning parade manz!!!

Of Kangaroos and Koalas

I've noticed that I haven't been posting for quite awhile already! Time to kick start the habit again(I hope). Eversince I've started worrying about going back to OCS I don't think I've been properly managing my time during that period of time. News flash: my chances of going back are better now and my ex-ocs instructors are going all out to help me go back. Was very touched when one of them said to me: "Lionel, I want you to commission!". I almost cried when he said that. Convinces me that there are still good people in this world. Next stop, the commissioning parade and claiming my birthright, what was and is rightfully mine, my officership!

Was called up in the middle of the night for duty because some toad chao kenged and escaped duty leaving me, the standby, to do it! What a wussy! The worse part, I was sick and just came back from a field camp!

Oh, my uncle's family from Australia came for a visit and I brought my cousin Magdalen(Maggie) out. Took some sticker prints and had a great deal to talk about! Later we joined the TK clan and went for dinner and during dinner Basil was trying to interrogate Maggie. He wanted to find out whether she was genuinely Australian or like one of his friends who went there for afew years and came back like one them, for awhile. But being that she spent the past 19 years there and from how she spoke his final verdict, genuine. But during his Q&A session wanted to kick his butt! Like I said, it was like an interrogation session and it looked like he was giving her a hard time! After that, Mag was worried that she didn't give him the right answer(haiyo). Anyway, after dinner we hit the usual spot! Acid Bar! That night we had that indian lady singing, fantastically as usual. So we made a song a song request, If I ain't got you by alicia keys, for our chief TK Chew on his "21st birthday"! By the way, she sings better than any SG idol by leaps and bounds! So, after the song Brad raised glasses and said: "happy 21st birthday to Hendry and many more to come." Basil drove all of us back and I also thanked him for taking the trouble for driving Mag to her place when he could have left me to send her back(and blowing more "cha-ching" on the cab fare, I know I sound miserly but hey! I was broke at that time) and he said he gave her a hard time during dinner so driving her back was kind of like an apology. But it was really great of him because he drove all of us back, TK didn't ride his phantom...

Oh, recently SOF came for ex-secret(like I'd tell you!) and I was talking to one of their operatives. Was really a cool experience man! He even allowed me to handle the mp5 complete with the reflex sight! How cool is that?
