When you're charmed by the land of smiles

Thailand is truely a great place. Nevermind it for the constantly wet roads(and it did not rain) or the dogs that miraculously do not bark(probably because they're Buddhist dogs not like the free-thinker dogs here) wondering the place and the manure that accompany or the super-duper HOT weather. I love that place! Whenever my returning friends tell me about how much they love Thailand, I think they're nuts, well unless I'm nuts like them I love that place now. Firstly, wah, the Ah-kuahs there really pretty man! Some of them look like real girls sial, Some prettier and more gentle! Their complexion is also better! But when they open their mouth, CANNOT MAKE IT. I went to one of those Cabaret shows and witnessed it for the first time. Very entertaining man! You'd almost forget they're guys! Almost. One of them was so pretty and sweet, I swear if it/he/she/he-she was really a girl, I'll immediately fall in love with her and get her number... really! A real shame. One complaint is that the chinks there are a real horrible bunch. Take advantage of the ah-kuahs, touch the "papaya" and dun wanna pay up etc. the ah-kuahs there were not very happy and kept telling the chinks to pay up(to which they deny). Now, I dun have any love for the ah-kuahs but what the chinks do is disgusting. Even worse is in the hotel, whenever they wait for the elevator, when the door open and the people inside haven't come out, they swam in like a pack of marauding swines(trapping the people who wanna get out in the process)! Macam scared people wun let them in like that. Very inconsiderate!

Shopping there is also a pleasure, generally the sales people smile and greet you whenever you enter the store and when they speak... god, the way they talk sounds so gentle(I'm just talking about the Thai girls). Oh, and did I mention the stuff there is cheap? I can get the same stuff there for dollars cheaper than getting them here. Chatuchak is HOT and i mean really HOT!! A real oven there man! Especially when the people start pouring in! Amazing How I survived 7 hours there(8am-3pm cuz part of the reason was searching up and down helping Peiying look for her mummy-like keychains)!!! So in the end, I only got(only) 2 shirts for myself and the rest, presents for all my gal pals... Sorry lah guys, I cannot find anything for y'all(blame Peiying).

As for the food, They have Dunkin Donuts there! And it's leaps and bounds better than the one by our northern neighbour(well, almost anything elsewhere is better than what they have right?) but I still miss the good old one at far east. Eating at MAc's there is made fun again cuz they have a bigger variety than the one in Singapore and I only paid 3 bucks for a meal! WTH! Food there is Cheap and Good. The StarBucks there is WAAAY better than the one in Singapore cuz unlike Singapore, they're actually generous with the caramel! This is a big "FVCK U!" to the big wigs at Starbucks Singapore! I'll never buy any Starbucks stuff here hear me! Only in Thailand or US or places where they are generous and not a bunch of stinkos. So, in the mean time, I'll stick to Coffee Bean thank you. What do you stand to lose by being slightly more generous with caramel to your customers huh?

Those of you who're going to Thailand, please remember some people would try to CHEAT you yes, CHEAT. Despite all the smiles and all the friendliness, some jerks might wanna ruin your time there. They tried me but obviously failed cuz, while I was at Wat Pho and on my way to the Grand Palace, this guy came up and said that the Grand Palace was closed for some buddhist prayers and would open after 3 and offered a tuk tuk for 30 baht for a tour to those "Lucky Buddha" temples(and obviously selling some "lucky diamonds" or soem other trash) and even gave a map indicating all those temples. What nonsense cuz the Grand Palace closes at 3.30. Beware.

So at the end of my trip, I came back with 2 shirts(from Chatuchak), 2 books(and I saved 10 bucks than if I got them from Singapre), 3 cds(saved almost 100 bucks and no, they are original cds, just that SONY music singapore likes to import cds from japan and jack up the prices instead of making them locally, FVCK them corporate jerk Big Wigs), a pin from Hard Rock Cafe BKK, a limited edition Star Wars Crimson Guard figurine(obviously the Thais do not know the value of that figure cuz I got it at 20 bucks, saving 23 bucks and it was the last one!) and an itch to go back(hopefully with friends the next time round). You should see what my sis bought, she can start a bra and panties shop already man! If given the chance to work there(with a Singapore standard pay or higher, higher is better right?) I'll surely take it and at the same time get a Thai girlfriend while I'm there haha, really! Although I love Singaporean girls, the girls there are really good looking, BIG eyes and all and everywhere you turn, you'll see a bijin unlike Singapore where you'll have to be lucky to go to Orchard on a "Good Day". And you can see that they dress up neatly unlike Singaporeans who sometimes go to orchard dressed up like they are walking around the void decks. I think just for the girls alone, Don and the TK Clan would have a good time feasting their eyes. What can I say, I'm Charmed. Yes, I can say that I'm truely charmed by Thailand.

Karaoke with the TK Clan

Yesterday was the first time I've ever been to a karaoke bar(laugh all you want). Think it's called party place err... nevermind lah, I know it's party "something" located next to the HMV. So, in addition to singing, we were shouting to screaming the songs. The Chief aka "Ah Pek" since he was the oldest, was singing "Ah Pek" songs. Highlights of the evening included us opening the room's door while the Chief gives a speech to the people walking up and down the corridor, SL and I dedicating songs to the gals whom we liked......or in SL's case, their BFs(note: liked, and no, not that we're not good looking, it's just that we were not fast enough), dedicating songs to the gals who broke up with the other members of the Clan(due to a non-disclosure agreement, I shall not disclose his name... unless bribed), throwing coasters at each other(disc of death), the Chief singing a part of a song: "I just want you to know who I am" and everyone saying: "paedophile" and singing and dancing(that part of the song went: "zhou ah zhou") to some "Ah Pek" song, All of us dancing/jumping on the sofas and singing/shouting Heal the World, Backstreet's back(Bread's choice) and especially YMCA(the people walking past our room were giving us queer looks). At the end of the day, all of us lost our voices. Basil had it the worse cuz he's going to NS on friday. Go in cham liao, later in camp say(in coarse voice): "Sergeant, I cannot shout. I lost my voice during karaoke" then kana pumped 1000. After Karaoke, we accompanied Basil to Mustafa to get some stuff for when he's going in, on the way, this toopid bus driver almost crashed into the car! Thankfully, Basil's a good driver and saved us. Ok, so the TK Clan has one less member followed by another 3 by next month(I can't wait!) and 2 more in the next few months after(Sorry Ah Ber)... We're all becoming MEN! Oh, did I mention that our chief isn't going in? He's completed NS already...

One more month of "FREEDOM"

Counting down.... exactly one more month before I hand in my pink I/C and transform into a Full-Time labourer for the nation. WOOHOO! Imagine the pride, honour, chivalry etc..... whatever. And well, there goes my hair! I solemnly declare to do my very best for my nation and do her proud. I will not under any circumstances disgrace her.

The Key To My Heart??

Well, while surfing, I came upon this site. Interesting stuff.........

The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.
