Gong xi fa cai, Hong bao yi ge lai!!!

Indeed this is a very belated blog entry about my CNY but nevertheless.

I really didn't expect my collections this year to surpass last years but it did(I always think that every year anyway)! The only difference between this year's CNY and Last year's is that this year I'm saving money for my ORD holiday!!! Went to my paternal grams' side for reunion dinner on the day before and had dinner there. And on the first day I did NOTHING!!! Boring eve and first day right?

Anyway on the second day things changed for the better. Earlier in the day my "relatives" whom i've not seen for years visited my family but at least I received afew red packets from them and met a cousin(or something like that), Valarie, haha whom i've never knew before. Then I went to my Ferrari Aunt's place. She has a Ferarri and Porsche SUV in her frontyard! I wish I have her car so that i can sell it away and get rich :D dun think I'll need her ang bao for the rest of my life after that! During the time I was at her place my cousin and I were counting our red packets to see if we had the correct amount. Then we found out that i got 9 and he had 6. So we backtracked to see who he missed but then we couldn't think of any other than our Ferarri aunt(because i thought she gave me one already). So he went over to ask her if she gave him his already. Turns out that she haven't gave anyone of us ours yet. Hahahahaha So he said to me: "Lionel!! Because of u, I sound like as if I'm so greedy!!" Then I said to him: "No, because of u, Aunt Ferarri remembered to give us our ang baos. YOU THE MAN!!!" hahaha. What I didn't tell him was that i forgot that 2 of my other aunts who were there forgot that they have given me an ang bao already and i myself forgot and when they asked me i told them: "Yee yee, I really dunno leh". Then they gave me my extra ang bao. Whereas my grandma brought me aside and gave me an extra red packet because im her favourite grandson haha. Being the favourite has its privileges!

After coming home that night, Piggy called me to go over to Don's place for TS house visitation. I was about to take a bath and sleep already. But for the team spirit!! I took out my mountain bike that has been collecting dust(must take it out for a ride after i ORD) and pumped its tires before setting off and almost crashed afew times along the way due to fatigue. It was already 12am and Don's parents were still up to give red packets! So nice. Saw everyone playing mahjong, a game i could hardly fathom, when i was there so after sitting next to Steph for awhile to be her lucky charm(because she was losing) i played racing games with Piggy on PS2. Left His place at 1:45am together with Piggy and Mun. Steph started winning after i transferred luck to her.

Day 3, Met up with Don to have dim sum lunch with the TS. Met Piggy at Tiong Bahru and she drove us over to Red Star(sounds communist right?) dim sum restaurant. Mun and Yogi were waiting for us there. Mun later told us that a fight broke out there the day before and Don and I hoped another one would break out so that we could run out of there without paying(we even wanted to think of how to start a fight to imitate the previous day's event). But in the end we ate like pigs, stuffed our tummies to the point i missed dinner and lunch the day after and left the restaurant with 21 bucks lighter wallets. Since Don and I had nothing on after that we went to mun's place for more ang baos. Initially we only thought Mun's parents would be there but his aunty was there too!! STEADY! One more red packet!! We also "Lo Hei" at his place as his family bought the Lou Hei and alot of other food(thus stretching our already overstretched tummies). His niece, Andrea was there also. A very commanding and bossy kid but at the same time fun to play with also. At first she was ignoring both Don and I. I went over to talk to her first but she ignored me to which Don said: "Good, dun talk to strangers." but when he tried she also ignored him(you forgot you're a stranger to her too Don). But once we started playing PS2 with her, she kept saying to me: "SIT NEXT TO ME!" and to Don: "GIVE ME THE CONTROLLER, I NEED THE CONTROLLER!".

A very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year to all my readers and friends! God bless each and everyone of you!

Countdown and a Yogi birthday too!

It's coming!!! It's coming!!!! 3 months minus 3 days more of bullshit and then freedom! I can already taste abit of it! Oh the sweetness of knowing freedom is around the corner. After that begins the task of fighting for my livelihood and survival. The excitement of the undiscovered is luring me its way. I'm just thinking of 2 things now. Seeing my baby Amie when I've attained my hard earned freedom and thinking where i should look to for my source of income. Newsflash: "Hardworking and capable diploma holder here, anyone willing to hire me for a high salary(a gazillion bucks)?"

Today was Amelia aka Yogi's advance birthday celebration! We purposely stayed in don's place overnight just to prepare for it!!! Wahahaha!!!!! Sequence of events:

We made a choco-banana cake for our birthday girl. A smashing success if you're to compare it to the superhard choco cake we made 2 years ago(check out the 2005 may post, dinner at amy's) which was so hard we could stick a heavy knife into it and it could still stand at any angle! Then we decorated the cake with icing sugar on it first then we used chocolate chips to put our signature TS name on it(because Amelia's name was too difficult to stick on it) and made banana and peach slices to decorate on it. Not to mention we made an extremely exciting video chronologically showing each and everystep of the baking process!

For all that team spirit and love we met Yogi at 3pm instead of 230 because first of all, Don's place is crap for flagging cabs. Secondly, Lot 1 was also crap for flagging cabs due to the fact that the queue at the taxi stand was too long and there were few taxis coming at that time. Luckily Don braved the scorching afternoon sun to flag a cab further from where we were(under shelter). When Yogi smsed Piggy where she was we all started thinking of excuses. Piggy would be stuck in traffic and Mun would be with her. Don would be in camp and I would say I just woke up and didn't wanna go :D

Yogi initially said she didn't wanna have oily food for lunch when we met up but we went to eat at marche(so much for having porridge, but it'll be wierd to have porridge for a birthday celebration right?). So after much photo taking we gave her the cake and presents. Choco-banana cake and 7 panties for everyday of the week(so if she's wearing monday's undies on sunday we know how long she haven't changed them). Too bad steph didn't come... we took for granted that Mun would inform everyone but he forgot to tell her :( Somemore Yogi gave us a treat. Thanks alot Yogi!

Some side stuff... During the end of my course one of my coursemates said to me "Lionel, wasted you didn't become an officer. " And when I asked why he said "You got leadership"(I was platoon in charge for the duration of the 2 week course). Somemore he's one of the types(grunts) I'll be leading if I commissioned and became a unit platoon commander. You never know you have it in you until people tell you that you have it. Honestly speaking when i was in OCS(Officer Cadet School) i always asked myself "Can i really do it?" even though my cadet coursemates tell me im solid, garang, zai etc. I never thought about it although i passed my missions(even the ones i didn't study for, platoon tactics). I know better things await me outside. And also it's because of my injury that I got close to my baby whom I thank God for. If given a choice, being an officer or my bao bei Amie? I choose Amie(jeg elsker deg).
