An abura b'day

Wow, t'was a really rushed day for me today manz! Booked in last Sunday, seeing your army friends makes you feel much better and boosts your morale even when you are booking into the stone age era of Tekong Camp because you feel like a school boy who haven't seen your friends since the holidays started. Anyway, after 6 days of the Army whereby I Got sick(the "Tekong Cough") on the first day and got this freaking Attend B status, went for(and passed) all my rifle drills and got my finger cut by a training bullet(I didn't know I was bleeding till I saw drops of blood on the ground sheet and when my friends sounded off to me) in the process and went for a computerised range(which is totally different from a live range cuz I got very good grouping distances... expert experience from NCC wat hehe). And yes, the BOBO shooters are still in existance...
Immediately after book out today, I went to 801 at tampines to get stuff for my coming field camp(and sadly parting with a load of vitamin M along the way... so much for retain therapy) with some army buddies then I had to immediately head back home to get some sleep(which was not much considering I had only 30mins of it) before heading to Joyce's Birthday party. Thankfullly, Zi Xuan came with his mom and I managed to hitch a ride to Sembawang(where he stays) and took a train home from there. Thus saving much precious time if not I would've spent more than 2 hours on the journey back home from tampines(Thank you GOD).
So what did I do at Joyce's party? Met up with secondary school friends and talked a truck load of rubbish, took some pics and made a (cool)new acquaintance along the way. Went there with the "tekong cough" and came back cutting the cheese more than usual(go figure) and still, with the "tekong cough".
Tomorrow? Church in the morning and then back to the Army again... Bon Soir!

I need some retail therapy

Finally my Star Wars toy: Commander Bacara was availiable in my fav toy store and I Got it today! Looking around the store, I also got a MGS 2 static figure, a transformers keychain(Bumblebee), Justice Gundam and a purple colour care bear for my kid sister. why? Because I finally got my army pay! Not much but better than nothing! Retail therapy really works, wanna cheer up? Try retail therapy, it works! Now, I should save enough money to get my hands on some army action figures. Too bad Piggy is in Australia without any more Vitamin M to take pleasure in retail therapy. Also, I met some army friends while outside today, 2 in army market and one in Orchard(THE Ah Beng of my section) who kana bedek by his friends who told him that Army Market was closed today haha. For some unknown reason, seeing them made me feel happy. OK, time to hit the bed! Tomolo booking back to camp and I need the sleep!

And the RO for tonight is:

Reveille 0530 hours, fall in 0545 hours and 5bx 0600 hours. NS life is really routine: wake up, get f***ed, exercise, breafast, more exercise, run, lecture, get f***ed, draw arms, route march, arms drill, getting f***ed more, foot drill, return arms and getting f***ed even more. 2 weeks of taking shit from all directions. But then again, I quite enjoy it. With Platoon Sergeant Goh with his cock talking sessions, Sergeant Gary with his "C***B**" and "F***U"(all with THE finger)!, Sergeant Nick with his "arrgh... OK lah!" and the PTI whom we *cough* Sherman(aka Morgan Freeman) *cough* always make fun of(even though we like him very much). They make NS life more enjoyable and helps in the morale even though we have to go through the occasional chicken shit rigidity of regimental life.

Take note, the first few nights of army life, you really cannot sleep man! Not used to sleeping in a hot room where the fans don't blow in your direction(which is made even worse when you're the platoon IC for 10 days! I think someone really "likes" me) and when your going to the toilet alone you would feel something cold brushing your neck to shoulder to face, your friends seeing someone in FBO patrolling the bunks corridor when no one does that kind of thing, hearing a woman scream or children laughing(my friends heard it) on thursday nights and when you're on the bed, a long strand of hair would suddenly fall on your face. Tres etrange! I still go to the toilet alone though. When you're answering the call of nature, you don't really care about those happenings anymore although I still get freaked out at times.

Booking out today was really a morale booster man! Just coming back from camp and into civilisation makes you appreciate the easy life you led before enlisting, your family, house, freedom, computer and Air-con(life was good then). Everyone in the bus was so happy we started shouted the core values cheer(something we would normally avoid), looking at girls as if the girl:boy ratio is 1:1000000 and making so much noise. So what am I doing on my first official book out? Guiltily blogging in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping.

Any questions for me? Good. I have nothing for you. Go back to your bunks. Lights out at 2230 hours!

P.S. just remember the last core value is: do what you want, don't get caught. Something I learnt from a captain(not my dad)

Tomorrow is a good day...

...of firsts. Why? It's because I'm the first in my maternal side of cousins and the first of the TSTS to enter NS. Oh yeah, and after yesterday I feel like Brad Pitt haha(Hey! that's what my friend from America called me, the "Brad Pitt of the east"). Sometimes I forget I'm bald till I look at the mirror. And that's my last post for the time being. Will be back in 2 weeks time! Take care and God Bless everyone reading this post.

P.S. TSTS lets get together when I book out of camp.
P.P.S. Don, quickly get your knee better and lets go cycling in the weekends lah.
P.P.P.S. Steph, those Tim Tams were great! Thanks alot sweetie!

The feeling of being BALD....

....is quite good actually! Your head feels so cool. Thanks to Ah-mund's mom for giving Philip and I such a nice shave today :) As Ah-mund's mom puts it: "jian de yuan yuan hao kan." haha. One more day of freedom before I enter the force. I hope I have as much fun as those who have gone before me. Oh yeah, cycled to Donkey's place just now to pass him his books and the girl's presents(so y'all hound him for the stuff). Just to note: he likes my new hairstyle(and rubbed my head)!
