I love working!!

This week is a refreshing break! I'm now in the microbiology lab!The best thing, the air con works! Unlike the air con in chemical lab, the microbio lab is cold. HEAVEN. Busy during the morning and free in the afternoon! Haha So what do i do? No not slack. I type up my microsoft excel and update my work instructions! Well... even that isn't enough to make me busy for the rest of the day so what did I do? I went over to my old lab, the chemical lab to help out my colleagues with their work which turns out that there was nothing left to do because they've already finished all their work! Will try to finish everything up tomorrow earlier and see what else I can do to help!

Thank God Halleluyah!

Finally! An internet connection at my apartment! No more going for free internet from the nearby function room nor starbucks!! YAY!! Now I can just stay in the apartment the whole day using internet without fear of my good friend of the function room internet switching off his internet as and when he pleases nor getting bamboozled by dishonest starbucks employees hahahaha!!!! Peace of mind at last! Oh and did I mention that I just found out how to secure wireless internet connections? Thanks to the IT guy at my office, Kelvin! Hehe no more leechers at my place anymore!!!

I think I spoke too soon last week when I said it was a peaceful week. On monday I found out that one of my lab colleagues got into a motorbike accident. He was crossing a T-intersection point when another motorbike collided into him. Long story short he suffered a blood clot in the brain and broken bones on the right hand side of the body(leading some of us to speculate that the other motorcyclist ran over him). Worst of all, he didn't wear a helmet when the accident occured. After 4 days, word came to office that he was officially brain dead and his family decided to pull the plug on him. I Don't know him nor remember how he looks like but god bless his soul. 23 year old guy and only son in the family...

The cooking post

I thought I was smart when I said cook the bacons first then the scrambled eggs! Guess I was wrong... Didn't imagine the rice cooker can stick to anything too! Not that my bacon stuck to the rice cooker, in fact it didn't! I don't know what but the rice cooker was able to find something to stick itself to and in no time the inner surface of the rice cooker was all brown. So imagine how my scrambled eggs look like. Go figure. Ok, as usual, my sunday morning breakfast consisted of eggs first, bacon and others later. How was my breakfast anyway? Simple only lah. 4 slices of bacon, 2 eggs scrambled together, 1 sausage(and from what I heard from my baby Amie that its the Bruneans' favourite food right?), 2 slices of bread spread with nutella and for health purposes(and also at the behest of my dear Amie) I had an apple. Gonna go grocery shopping later to get somemore bacon and biscuits :P

I think Edmund was right when he told me to soak the blackened part of the rice cooker in hot water! the whole black part came out collectively as one pancake! ok... bad analogy but u know what I mean right? I think I'm gonna have instant noodles for dinner tonight lah. Thankfully my landlady saw fit to fit my apartment with a new microwave oven(the old one was dead).

This week was rather low on drama and I would like to keep it that way. The only thing that I dun like is not being able to explore the place. My apartment has a company car but since I do not have a license the only choice that I have is to go to the nearest mall, which is pathetic by the way, for all my grocery needs and of course, Starbucks(where the waitress there tried to bamboozle me by feighing ignorance when not returning my change) for "free" internet.

The National Day blog

Finally after refreshing my page for 1000 times I am able to enter a new web log entry. I was able to finally come back to SG yesterday and I must say, the moment I set foot in my own country I felt so safe. While in the car and along the way back to SG we almost met with an accident also. The driver of this big lorry forgot his turning radius, turned too soon and almost crashed into the car and if it did we'll all be squashed! All the stress is gone! LITERALLY! It's times like this when you are away from your own country that you really learn to appreciate it.

The one month I spent there I saw 3 road accidents, 2 fatal. And there was this strike that happened along the road from my work place to my apartment that caused everyone to get home 1/2 an hour late.

Lately i find that the internet connection at my house is getting more and more problematic... I even have trouble chatting on msn!!! What the hell is going on? I think its because my house's wifi is unsecured and there might be tons of leechers around... damned pricks! Because of them I have trouble chatting to my girlfriend! &^%^*&(*&@$%^@#^&* Can someone teach me to secure my wireless?

The mystery of chicken eggs, sausages and bacon

I'm back from dinner! well... I tanked it. My omelette looks like scrambled eggs with meat in it, see the title. And once again, my rice cooker is chao ta hahahaha. Anyway in the mean time I'll just stick to scrambled eggs and bacon lah. That is... until i get a working stove and a proper wok! It's more a matter of if than when... haiz....

Starbucks and my ugly new haircut

I think someone was trying to rob me of my laptop while I was on the way to starbucks just now. While walking here there was this guy on his motorcycle who saw me and immediately stopped to ask me for directions. While he was stopping I quickly walked away from the road and and as he motioned to a piece of paper on his bike he asked me "lao ban zhe ge di fang zai na li?" which means "boss, where is this place". I just said "wo bu zhi dao", "I don't know" and walked away. It was actually a scary experience because what if I walked towards his bike and he decided to whack me and rob me of my laptop? Even worse, stab me, rob me and leave me for dead! Tell tale signs, he didn't take out that paper, he just touched it. If i had gone closer to take a look I would've been beaten up! In this country you cannot be friendly. I heard that a bunch of indians in a van go around kidnapping girls to gang rape them. They stop close to a girl, ask for help, when she goes closer, they grab her, drive to some undisclosed place, gang rape her and either leave her for dead or murder her. Even schools or universities for that matter are not spared. Kidnappers go there to kidnap students! Staying here is rather stressful. But atleast I learn to be more street smart. you win some and then you lose some lah.

Even taking the taxi is stressful! I feel that all the taxi drivers want is to cheat my money! Yesterday when i called a taxi to drive me to church, one of the wanted to charge me 9 bucks when I usually pay 7 bucks. I tried bargaining but he didn't budge so i bid him good riddance. Called again, this time the other driver wanted to charge me 10 bucks! What a creep! I was like "No way!" i said "7 bucks!" and in the end we agreed for 8 bucks but i made him take the long way to church because he clearly doesn't know the way hehe, that's what u get for trying to cheat my money! I make u waste petrol! :P I hate dishonest people! Anyway, Thank god after mass my church friend, Louis, drove me back. Somemore his home is quite far from my apartment, what a guy!

It's been quite a drama mama week for me anyway. Just last week, my process manager brought me out for a haircut and when i told the barber "short" he took it literally and SHAVED my head!!! My face changed the moment he did that! and when my front looked too in proportional i asked him to make it look more neat, guess what? he CUT it! Now i look like GI joe! Crap. Hope my hair grows just in time to be adequately long for when I go visit my darling Amie again. *muack* I love you Amie.

Oh, and I've recently started cooking for myself. I take more than an hour to cook and less than 5 minutes to fninsh everything up! What's going on? I made scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast this morning anyway yum yum! Too bad I can't cook with the TS... They had chicken rice the other time! Guess what I used to cook my breakfast anyway. A rice cooker! That's all I have anyway because the gas stove has been broke for eons. Now, the bottom of it is all chao ta! wahahahahaha :D Anyone have any anti rice cooker chao ta secrets? Care to share your tips with me? :P Dinner, omelette made from my baby's secret recipe! Hope the rice cooker behaves this time!
