Countdown and a Yogi birthday too!
Today was Amelia aka Yogi's advance birthday celebration! We purposely stayed in don's place overnight just to prepare for it!!! Wahahaha!!!!! Sequence of events:
- woke up at 6
- went to lot 1 shopping mall
- bought baking ingredients for her cake
- went back to don's place to bake the cake
- voila!
We made a choco-banana cake for our birthday girl. A smashing success if you're to compare it to the superhard choco cake we made 2 years ago(check out the 2005 may post, dinner at amy's) which was so hard we could stick a heavy knife into it and it could still stand at any angle! Then we decorated the cake with icing sugar on it first then we used chocolate chips to put our signature TS name on it(because Amelia's name was too difficult to stick on it) and made banana and peach slices to decorate on it. Not to mention we made an extremely exciting video chronologically showing each and everystep of the baking process!
For all that team spirit and love we met Yogi at 3pm instead of 230 because first of all, Don's place is crap for flagging cabs. Secondly, Lot 1 was also crap for flagging cabs due to the fact that the queue at the taxi stand was too long and there were few taxis coming at that time. Luckily Don braved the scorching afternoon sun to flag a cab further from where we were(under shelter). When Yogi smsed Piggy where she was we all started thinking of excuses. Piggy would be stuck in traffic and Mun would be with her. Don would be in camp and I would say I just woke up and didn't wanna go :D
Yogi initially said she didn't wanna have oily food for lunch when we met up but we went to eat at marche(so much for having porridge, but it'll be wierd to have porridge for a birthday celebration right?). So after much photo taking we gave her the cake and presents. Choco-banana cake and 7 panties for everyday of the week(so if she's wearing monday's undies on sunday we know how long she haven't changed them). Too bad steph didn't come... we took for granted that Mun would inform everyone but he forgot to tell her :( Somemore Yogi gave us a treat. Thanks alot Yogi!
Some side stuff... During the end of my course one of my coursemates said to me "Lionel, wasted you didn't become an officer. " And when I asked why he said "You got leadership"(I was platoon in charge for the duration of the 2 week course). Somemore he's one of the types(grunts) I'll be leading if I commissioned and became a unit platoon commander. You never know you have it in you until people tell you that you have it. Honestly speaking when i was in OCS(Officer Cadet School) i always asked myself "Can i really do it?" even though my cadet coursemates tell me im solid, garang, zai etc. I never thought about it although i passed my missions(even the ones i didn't study for, platoon tactics). I know better things await me outside. And also it's because of my injury that I got close to my baby whom I thank God for. If given a choice, being an officer or my bao bei Amie? I choose Amie(jeg elsker deg).
